The flow through a wall-mounted thin orifice in a pipe was studied. Refractive index matching is employed to ensure that velocity measurements could be obtained in all regions inside of measured positions. Laser-Doppler-anemometry was used to the pipe flow test section without any distortion of obtain quantitative velocity information.
