Presentation of the case.

Experiments were performed to determine the mean velocity field in two three-dimensional diffusers with the same fully-developed channel inlet but slightly different expansion geometries. Magnetic Resonance Velocimetry was used to collect velocity data. Both diffuser flows exhibited three-dimensional boundary layer separation but the size and shape of the separation bubble exhibited a high degree of geometric sensitivity dependent on the dimensions of the diffuser. Flow Parameters

The working fluid for all of the experiments was water. A centrifugal pump circulated water at a flow rate of 20.3 L/min. The Reynolds number of both diffusers based on the height of the inlet channel (1 cm) and bulk inlet velocity (1 m/s) was set to approximately 10,000. At the inlet sections of both diffusers, the flow is assumed to be fully developed.

Note: Only diffuser 1 is "mandatory".
