Results for case Parietal two-phase jet

Code: Code_Saturne

Version: 2.0-beta2

Authors: M. Guillaud

Method and Numerical Options

Models

k - epsilon for the single-phase flow; two-way coupling for velocity and turbulence for the Lagrangian calculation

Mesh

The calculation were performed on the SIMAIL-generated mesh "JetParietal.des"

Description of the results files

The results of the Lagrangian calculations compare satisfactorily with the experimental data concerning the profiles of the particle volume fraction and the mean particle velocity with respect to x. In this direction, the particle fluctuating velocity is also quite well-retrieved.

In the Z-direction, the particle velocity is slightly underestimated. This underestimation is less visible downstream; the velocity is then over-estimated. The fluctuating velocity in the Z-direction is generally underestimated.

Boundary conditions

Single-phase calculation:

Inlet: imposed velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation; profiles defined through the use of a user function Outlet: imposed pressure side-faces: symmetry

Lagrangian calculation

Inlet: Imposed particle velocity ; profile imposed through the use of a user function Outlet: particle outlet* side-faces: Particle rebound
