EngD Progress

The effects of turbulent mixing and heat transfer in ageing Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor (AGR) boilers will be conducted using an Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) approach. Once local conditions can be predicted with sufficient accuracy a simplified superheater boiler configuration will be modelled. These predictions will be later implemented into current boiler codes used at British Energy.


My first year transfer report contains a literature survey, a theoretical background and some results of initial test cases conducted to gain experience with Code_Saturne.
