Welcome to the ERCOFTAC "Classic Collection" Database. From these
pages you can access the test cases of the original ERCOFTAC Database,
which was started in 1995. In 1999 the CFD group at UMIST took over
responsibility for it, and following the merger of UMIST and the
Victoria University of Manchester it is now administered by the
CFD and Turbulence Mechanics research group
in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at
The
University of Manchester.
The database has undergone some re-structuring and expansion to
include, amongst other things, more details of the test cases, computational
results, and results and conclusions drawn from the ERCOFTAC Workshops on
Refined Turbulence Modelling. At the moment, each case should contain at
least a brief description, some data to download, and references to
published work. Some cases contain significantly more information than
this.
The database is open to all fluid dynamicists worldwide. However, to
enable us to keep track of how the database is being used it is necessary
to register in order to download any of the datasets. For those already
using the original database, your username and password remain unaltered.
New users can register from the link towards the top of the page.
If you have any comments or suggestions for further improvements, please
either make use of the discussion forum from the link on the left, or
e-mail Tim Craft or
Dominique Laurence.
The links below provide a number of methods for accessing the database.
